This is based on Thunderbirds. A driver (me, Dad) falls asleep whilst driving a heavy vehicle and it falls down a hole in the ground. Thunderbirds 1 and 2 fly to the rescue and pull it out with a tow rope to save the day.
My sons Laurie Jnr and Jonathan made this film when they were 7 and 5 years old respectively. They won a 'Best Sound Film of the Year' Les Germany award with this in their first entry into an IAC competition, the North Thames Regional on 28th Nov 2004. I edited the film for them under their direction but they made all of the creative decisions such as what music to use and where to put the sound effects and they made up the story as well as acted in it. This film was shown at the competition.
They were featured on the IAC web site Dec 2004. (IAC link on home page).
In March 2005 they won their second award, a silver at the IAC BIAF competition with the one minute film 'Rusk'. Laurie Jnr and Dad act in this. Dad won't give Laurie cereal and makes him eat Rusk. So Laurie says it is too runny, then too stodgy and then 'just right' as he tips over his dad's head.
In Aug 2005 they won a Commended award at the Guernsey Lily with 'Thunderkids'.
'Rap Raptor' is another project they made which won 2nd prize in the NTR one-min competition in 2008, and in the same competition 'Celeste' got a highly commended, another film they made with their dad.
'I am Lightning' features Jon's Tortoise, Scoot, and was made 2009.
