11th Nov 2009 - My and the kids have made some 1/10th scale paper radio control Robot Mini Wars fights. A small championship series. We have posted these on YouTube.
23rd Oct 2009 - Event on Nov 22nd at Maidstone, Kent, UK. I am not sure yet if Lightning will be going (as a static display) but we may do. There are some other things going on around that time, so it all depends. Meanwhile today, I am uploading to YouTube lots of PS2 game captures of Lightning fighting various robots in various arenas, such as Chaos 2, Sir Killalot and Hypnodisc.

14th June 2009 - Guildford Robot Wars Live event. Lightning was a static display again. Lots of crowds saw heavyweights, feathers, and ants fight it out in fine style. Lots of robot flying in Jonn's Roaming Robots arena. I met Gareth there and his dad, saw Matt from team Hunter too. Filmed it but for some reason only filmed the heavys - sorry guys. There was even a Lightning antweight robot, which was fun. Will be putting the video on YouTube.
12th May 2009 - The Calvertfilm video of the Brentwood event (May 4th below) is now on the web site at www.ukrobotwars.com which is nice. Myself and Richard have been talking about the possibilities of making another version of Lightning to use at live events, that needs no gas and is all electric. Robot DAVE has got new controller boards that have been tested on his arm. Also some interface boards will be running the hands from the test rig. So a bit of progress there.
4th May 2009 - Thanks to Matt from team Hunter, we went to the UK Robot Wars event at Brentwood May 2nd-3rd. Great fun. We didn't fight, but really enjoyed supporting the event with a static Lightning. I also filmed some stuff - search 'Calvertfilm Brentwood' on YouTube.
14th Apr 2009 - Team Lightning and our robot are due to appear at the Brentwood Centre the weekend of May 2nd-3rd. This is a live Robot Wars event. We will be a static display but there will be plenty of fighting robots, and some special guest stars such as film characters. More information at www.ukrobotwars.com
27th Mar 2009 - I am starting to fill the holes in the bottom of the Astromech Droid. Using filler. It is taking ages but needs to be done. The other main area I need to fix is the Radar Eye, so I am trying to source parts online.
25th Mar 2009 - Took delivery of a full-size R2-D2. Static 3D model.
18th Mar 2009 - Corgi model of my XR3 is released today. In shops shortly.
